Instructions for Paper Submissions

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PAPER SUBMISSIONS (Category I – XI):

• Authors must submit SHORT PAPERS (3-4 pages) or REGULAR PAPERS (5-8 pages) electronically as single PDF files in US Letter size (not A4).
• Authors must use the IEEE conference template, two-column template, as shown in the links below:

• Please follow the IEEE standards and ensure that all fonts are embedded. Please also remove running headers/footers, page numbering, and blue underlining for URLs and email addresses. • Please be prepared to submit a paper abstract (100-300 words) when submitting a paper. Authors who need visa application support can submit paper abstracts (100-300 words) first.

Authors of accepted papers (or at least one of the authors) are expected to register and to present their work at IEEE UV2020. Papers that have been accepted and presented will be published in the conference proceedings and IEEE Xplore Digital Library. The best papers will receive the IEEE UV2020 Best Paper Awards.

IMPORTANT DATES FOR PAPER SESSIONS:

(*) Due to the unexpected situations authors may experience/face during the COVID-19 pandemic, UV2020 Organizing Committee has postponed the due date of paper submission to September 30. To facilitate our process of reviewing and program arrangements, it is highly suggested that you submit your paper abstracts and paper outlines in a WORD/PDF file by September 20. For authors who can submit full-length papers early, please kindly do so. Your cooperation will be greatly appreciated.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PITCH SUBMISSIONS (Category XIII)

All applicants can submit pitch abstracts for the PITCH COMPETITION session. Please submit a one-page abstract (100-300 words) and five-to-twenty-page PowerPoint/PDF slides. Please inform us if you prefer to attend the special session for teenagers.

Authors of accepted pitch abstracts (or at least one of the authors) are expected to register and to present their ideas at IEEE UV2020. The best pitch presenter will receive the IEEE UV2020 Best Pitch Award.

IMPORTANT DATES FOR THE PITCH COMPETITION:

INSTRUCTIONS FOR POSTER SUBMISSIONS  (Category XIV – Session 14-A):

All applicants can submit posters for the poster-only session. Please submit your poster in PDF format with a one-page abstract (100-300 words) and a one-page PowerPoint/PDF slide. The preferred poster size is 18 inch x 24 inch (46 cm x 61 cm). Please ensure that the size of your poster does not exceed the poster board dimensions: 18 inch x 24 inch.

Authors of accepted posters (or at least one of the authors) are expected to register and to prepare a one-to-two-minute oral presentation at IEEE UV2020. All posters MUST be displayed throughout the conference. The best posters will receive the IEEE UV2020 Best Poster Awards.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR EXHIBITION APPLICATION SUBMISSIONS  (Category XIV – Session 14-B):

All applicants can submit exhibition abstracts for the exhibition session. Please submit a one-page abstract (100-300 words) and a one-page PowerPoint/PDF slide.

Exhibitors are expected to register and to prepare a one-to-two-minute oral presentation at IEEE UV2020. The most impressive exhibitions will be determined and recognized with awards by keynote speakers.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR NEW SPECIAL SESSIONS PROPOSALS  (Category XI):

The call for special sessions is still open. All papers presented in the session will be included in the conference proceedings.Additional SESSION PROPOSALS should fit within one page in free format. All proposals should include:

1. The title of the session
2. Organizers’ information, such as names, affiliations, and e-mail addresses
3. Session details (themes, requirements, keynote speakers, etc.)
4. Estimated number of admitted papers.
